Mowat Idol
So, I didn’t go to Mowat, and I don’t even know what a Mowat is, but who doesn’t love Mowat Idol?

Random trip to Toronto last night. That was fun.
Today’s pay day. What debts should I pay down today?
Movie time has changed to 6:45.
Stephanie’s assignment sucks. I don’t mean her document to satisfy the assignment but the actual assignment itself.
Ice Ice Baby…
A real flurry of tiny updates recently, eh? I just wanted to quickly update to inform readers that I’ll be going with a few friends to see The Passion of The Christ this Thursday (Feb. 26th) at 9:45 p.m. You should come, too.
Alright, I’ve got a couple of problems that need to be dealt with immediately: 1. I don’t have anything to update this page with; and 2. I don’t have anything to present to my peers tomorrow. Okay, hold on–I’ll watch an episode of Family Guy.
Yeah, I still got nothing. Family Guy is a great show, though.
I ran accross an interesting article on Microsoft’s support site.
Does someone want to play solitaire showdown? I missed out.
When you post an update to your web log do you normally write the title or the entry first?
I’ve been experiencing nastiness with my desktop environment for a while but have never done anything about it. I basically got really annoyed with it yesterday and decided that either gaim or fluxbox was to blame. So, I blew away my preferences for both. After some time I decided it was fluxbox so now I’ve moved on to KDE.
/me pauses while you read that last sentence again.
Yes, KDE. It’s what I had installed (for mum and brother) and it’s pretty so I’m giving it a fair run. Don’t worry–I was quick to turn off the annoying sounds an animations. Things have been running a little bit more reliably since I made the change (admittedly, not too long ago). We’ll see how things go in the next few days.
One of my co-workers, Adam, passed on a link to the broken. It’s interesting. I did like the laptop trick they did with Ramzi.
I head to Toronto tomorrow with Will to pick up Alex. I’m pretty excited, and I think Will is too. I am even MORE excited about seeing Kevin Smith next month. Jealousy quickly spread amoung my friends who are working at FCT, so now everyone’s going. That should work out well, though–we can have a nice dinner, and share some great laughs (and that’s an understatement!). Smith is going to rock my world more than Chad ever could.
Speaking of Turtle, she hasn’t updated her web log in a while. Sure, she is home for reading week, but that’s no excuse! If anything that should mean more updates. Stephanie’s not online so I have no idea if I’m going to see her tomorrow. I don’t think I’ve ever watched Poovivor with Alex and Stephanie at the same time before.
Some of you may have heard about operation hair cut. Well, it was successful according to everyone who saw me. One co-worker described the cut as “cool, but not too cool” while my mother said it was “the best haircut she’s ever seen on me.” Obviously I’ll have to go to LuLu’s again (sorry, don’t have a link, but she’s at 296 (or so) Bagot St., Kingston ON).
Finally for today, Ontario college teachers are 75% in favour of a strike early next month. While the lack of classroom instruction won’t hurt my semester too much, the possibility of extending the semester could. Notable is that St. Lawrence College had the lowest pro-strike vote of all of the colleges. It was still over 50%, though.
That’s it. See you on the 401.
Hi. How are you? Let’s start with the Friday Five:
1. Are you superstitious? No.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition? No stories come to mind.
3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition? None come to mind. I do like walking under ladders in public places, though. Sometimes I get nervous about the structural integrity of the ladder.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual? Believe in luck? Hmm, I don’t know; haven’t thought about it much. I don’t think I believe the idea that there’s an external force, “luck,” that has any effect on one’s life.
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not? Hahahaha.
Well, that was refreshing.
Turtle phoned me this afternoon (well SMSed me then I phoned her and left a message and she returned my call) to tell me that she got 95/100 on her commerce proposal! This is exciting as many other groups in her class scored less than zero! Stephanie told me of one case where a group earned negative 400! Wow. Congratulations Stephanie’s group!
Also very exciting news, Alex has informed me of Kevin Smith visiting Ryerson for a Q&A session next month. I’m going. I have to go. Unfortunately it conflicts with work, school, and Nana’s visit to Alex and Stephanie, but I still have to go. I’m not sure how I’ll get there (bus?), or any other details, but I know I’m going. I’ll need an accomplice. I asked Turtle, but I think it conflicts with the Nana/Shelley visit for her. :( Alex will, obviously, be entertaining, and I can’t take her away from that. Anyone interested? I bet Alex and Stephanie are the only two who will read this.
I have a hair appointment at LuLu’s for Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. I’m handsome-ing up for my big trip to Toronto next Thursday.
This Sunday is the Daytona 500. Normally all of the lucky people go to Mere and Steve’s for the big NASCAR party but Mere had her gall bladder removed today. As of right now I still don’t know what I’m doing for the big race; maybe just sit at home and have some feta dip? I’ll let you know.
Despite what some websites think, there’s more than just Internet Explorer in this world. Is the functionality of your website really hindered by the capabilities of Mozilla? Ryan Warner: FIX IT.
It’s 2 a.m. and I’m waiting for Stephanie to accept the edited version of her description of Abraham, the bearded fellow from the book of Genesis. I hope she doesn’t get strep throat this year.
Had a wonderful dinner (and yummy chocolate chip cookies) at Grandma (#2)’s house, today. And my hair is growing to be a bit long.
9:30 a.m. class tomorrow. I hate Mondays. I think I’ll be getting up at 6:30 a.m., or at least try to, so I can go into town at 8:00 a.m. I’m not sure if I’m going with Will to school in the morning; I’ll find out soon enough.
File transfer is completed.
