Ryan Allen Endorses: The Real Canadian Superstore

Loblaws Inc. is a household name in Ontario grocery, expanding more and more into other parts of the country. When Wal-Mart decided to enter the grocery market Loblaws knew that they would need to address the looming threat of Wal-Mart’s cut-throat low prices and one-stop shopping for consumers. Among other changes, this was part of the inspiration for the Real Canadian Superstore as we know it today.

The Real Canadian Superstore (RCSS) is a hypermarket known in western Canada and growing its presence in Ontario. RCSS provides consumers with one-stop shopping and lower prices in addition to services and small retail outlets that are associated or partnered with the store. For example, you can buy fresh meat and produce, shelf groceries, bedding, dishes, toys, electronics, and more from the main Superstore. In addition to this, RCSS stores will often also feature a dry cleaner, a wine store, a cigar shop, and even a health club. Extended hours and regular pricing specials make the Real Canadian Superstore a Real Convenience to consumers, all the while providing an up-scale and clean shopping environment.

I love the Superstore for all of the above reasons and more. It’s spacious, well-stocked, and well-staffed. The hiring standards are second to none–I once applied for a job there and did not get a call, which should show you the kind of standards they hold their applicants to. I make a trip to the Superstore a part of my weekly routine, sometimes making additional trips during the week for work-related food items or even just for pleasure. If you’re feeling down you can always look forward to a trip to the Superstore.

It shouldn’t surprise you that they even carry Dentyne Ice at the Real Canadian Superstore.

On the Democratic ticket I endorse Obama, on the Republican side, McCain. I would also like to see Ron Paul have a special role in government as a Constitutional watchdog, but not have him be president.

It would be very interesting if Obama became the Democratic candidate, but I have a feeling that the byzantine nonsense of the nomination process is going to prove his undoing, more’s the pity.

I would have endorsed McCain prior to his enthusiasm about Bush over the course of the Iraq war. His abandonment of principle in the name of partisan rhetoric was disappointing.

Of the Republicans who are left, there aren’t any that I would feel comfortable recommending. I just hope that Huckabee doesn’t get the nod, as he is batshit insane and monstrously dangerous. Given that these people elected George W Bush at least once, however, I am not filled with confidence.

In other news, RJA, I find it amusing that you consider your own rejection as a potential employee as a sign of an organization’s quality.

    (Yay Superstore, et cetera.)
