Mike

Today is the day that Mike officially moves out of my apartment and into his apartment here in Ottawa. Mike has been a great roommate and I am going to miss him. But before he arrived my dining room was a bedroom for at least a month already, but longer I think. I am anxious to return my dining room table to the dining room. So anxious, in fact, that I have already done it.

I also today purchased a large Rubbermaid container to leave near my motorcycle to store things like car wash, chain lube, and a tire pressure gauge. This cleared up the area around my front door so there was even more clutter reduced. I got rid of some old clothes and moved some winter clothes to storage in the closet. Things are looking pretty organized around here.

One of my other exciting purchases of the day was a new printer. Last week I had to make a stop at the print shop to print a few simple pages and transparencies; it was an undesirable stop. I saw a good deal on a new networked colour laser printer at Costco so I scooped it up, not even intending on buying a printer anytime soon. That happens at Costco.

So my old HP Laserjet 1020 has been replaced with a Samsung CLP-350N. All told, this is the third printer that I have personally bought, though the LJ1020 was purchased because I had to leave my HP Laserjet 1100xi with my mum when I moved away from home. I really doubt that I print enough to justify owning a printer at all, let alone a colour laser printer, but it is a convenience that we are almost all guilty of having.
