Tequila

Friday: I had lunch with work colleagues to commemorate Brian’s last day. This was at Lone Star and turned out to be quite nice. I ended up at work a little late, wrapping things up before I went on vacation. On Friday night I saw Adam, Kyla, and Mike for dinner which was great because it had been a while.

Saturday: Adam and I went to uOttawa campus so that he could buy some uOttawa swag. I showed him around campus a bit so that he is prepared for his first class in the fall. Afterwards we went to Active Electronics to pick up some stuff to connect my GPS to the electrical on my motorbike. It was a strange store, but it had what we needed. Adam and I did what we needed to do to finish the job with the GPS with great success.

Saturday evening I went to Sheryl’s where she and her roommate hosted a barbecue. I brought a fruit salsa with cinnamon chips that was well received. It was a pot-luck barbecue and there was as many non-dessert pot-luck things as there was dessert pot-luck things, which was amazing.

Sunday: I went to Church in the morning then met Sheryl for lunch (we ate some potluck leftovers), went for a walk, had some delicious Starbucks, then watched the movies In Bruges and The Bucket List. I think the Bucket List was the favourite of the two, though I thought In Bruges was a nice film with some dark humour.

Monday: I rode to Perth and met Adam, his parents, and Kyla for lunch at Mexicala Rosa’s. The food and service was terrible, but we had a nice spot on the patio and the company was top notch. After lunch I rode back to Ottawa and cleaned up my apartment in preparation for my time away from it. Adam and Katy came over for dinner and then we all met Mike, Charlie, and another person to see the movie Wall-E. A good film.

Tuesday: I went into work to resolve an issue before I truly went on vacation. I left work and rode to Toronto, stopping in Campbellford at the Whatever Cafe for lunch. I met Brad in Toronto after he finished work and I got settled in. Brad put me in the very luxurious guest suite in his condo building; the guest suite is much, much nicer than the one in my apartment building.

Brad and I ate at Pizzaiola then went down to the ACC and got our tickets for the NIN concert. Deerhunter opened for NIN and was not bad, but not great. The NIN show itself was incredible, with the visuals being absolutely extraordinary. You can read many reviews, comments, etc. on ETS: 2008/08/05 – Toronto, ON [Air Canada Centre] .

Wednesday: I left Toronto and rode to Kingston. I visited with my mom for a bit, then went with my mom and sister to get cleaning supplies at Wal-Mart and Costco. Sister is moving into her first house this Friday. Dinner was served for Nana, Aunt Shelley, Alex’s friend James, and Mrs. Grooms. It was an excellent dinner followed by an excellent ice cream cake dessert. I spent the rest of the evening preparing for the trip to NASCAR. And, now, updating this post.

And I watched this: Pee Wee Herman – Tequila .

Update: I should also add that Wednesday morning I went to Starbucks and had the cracked pepper bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was okay, but not great. I moreso enjoyed my grande coffee frappuccino blended coffee.
