I had decided that I will make my famous chilli this weekend. I suspect that the combination of chilli and fresh buns from one of Germany’s many bakeries will be nothing short os spectacular. As such, I am really looking forward to it.
I had a slight challenge in finding brown beans, but I eventually was lucky enough to find Heinz brand brown beans. They should be great. All of the other ingredients could be purchased with ease.
Before I go to the grocery store for the fresh items I thought I would double check to make sure I have everything. This includes, of course, chilli powder. So I went to the kitchen to see whether or not I had chilli powder.
I moved a few spices out of the way to reveal my chilli powder and I wondered if I had used it before. Popping the lid revealed that I had. So then it occurred to me that I had a reasonable collection of spices here, each purchased individually (ie, not as a set), and I wondered if this would be the “usual” number of spices that someone would have if they were temporarily living abroad.
Here is a list of the spices I have here:
- chilli powder
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- cayenne pepper
- rosemary
- oregano
- parsley
- paprika
- basil
- thyme
- coriander
