Children’s Books

At dinner on Friday, poop was a topic of conversation for a good ten minutes. Present was young Levin, who despite not being able to speak was still able to communicate that he was making a poop. This reminded me of the classic children’s book Everyone Poops.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Everyone Poops is not known here in Germany. I described its main purpose with excitement and ended up suggesting that I would acquire the book while I was in England. When I was in Canada at Christmas I brought back the book The Hockey Sweater.

This made me think of other classic Canadian English children’s books that I could bring back for Levin. My mind naturally jumped to Robert Munsch. I spent some time poking around Munsch’s website and came to learn that you can download mp3s of Munsch telling the stories in his usual excited ways. I listened to a few classics and am now very excited to see which of them I can find in London.

I love Robert Munsch, and his stories are now being published in volumes. Murmel, Murmel, Murmel has always been my favourite!
