Ryan Allen Endorses: Starbucks Corporation

When I was with Katy in London I would point out the Starbucks that was visible from every entrance to the Tube. When Evan, Matt, Kevin, and I are in Prague we would “Czech In” every morning to Starbucks in Wenceslas Square. Last winter Adam, Eric, and I would enjoy the occasional 7 a.m. Starbucks trip before work. I visited Jill many times at Starbucks, even sharing her excitement in having some of her photos on display there. A photo of Tiffany is on display in the very Starbucks that she so happily works at. Muis, Foran, Gilles, Misha, Gervais, Joel, and I will relieve our minds from the grip of work with the occasional trip to the Starbucks a mere 300 metres walk from the office. My first apartment was right over a Starbucks in Kingston.

Ryan Allen Endorses: BRIO Toy Trains

Most of my family on my mother’s side live in Nova Scotia–Halifax, to be exact. While I was born in Nova Scotia I grew up in Ontario, only visiting NS a few times when I was young. When I did visit it was, of course, lovely to see my family but I also always looked forward to playing with the BRIO toy train set at my grandmother’s.

Ryan Allen Endorses: Michael J. Sytsma

With the gap since the last Ryan Allen Endorsement I needed to ensure that I had a big endorsement to make up for lost time. Something bigger than any product; bigger than any service; even bigger than any company. But what, what could live up to the expectations I have set forth in this bigger-than-big endorsement? For weeks–months, even–the question has kept me away from my writing pad, causing the delay–and expectations–to grow even longer and higher. Surely with an endorsement of this magnitude your mind does not find it: it finds your mind. And that is exactly how it happened for me in this case.

When it finally hit me I realized that I had an endorsement that could reinvigorate the franchise even if I had gone two, five, or ten years without posting; one that instantly welcomes the return of the endorsements; and one that exceeds even the highest expectations. Ryan Allen Endorses: The Handshake

Something so prevalent in our society, but done well so infrequently: the handshake.

The handshake serves many purposes: it is a respectful greeting; a courteous good bye; symbolic of agreement; and, a sign of accomplishment and getting things done. It is a way for two parties to demonstrate their mutual respect and establish balance in a relationship. Its weight and significance is unmatched by any other simple gesture in the western world.

Ryan Allen Endorses: The Two-Piece Cotton Pyjama Set

Dignity and class–rare is it that these words can be associated with a level of comfort that is provided by the two-piece cotton pyjama set. While it may not be common for many to wear a pyjama set to bed I would be surprised to hear that the reason would be a lack of [...]

Ryan Allen Endorses: The Real Canadian Superstore

Loblaws Inc. is a household name in Ontario grocery, expanding more and more into other parts of the country. When Wal-Mart decided to enter the grocery market Loblaws knew that they would need to address the looming threat of Wal-Mart’s cut-throat low prices and one-stop shopping for consumers. Among other changes, this was part [...]

Ryan Allen Endorses: Dentyne Ice Gum

Ryan Allen Endorses: Dentyne Ice Gum.

Some say that chewing gum is a disgusting habit, but I say: I like chewing gum. There was a time (4:35) that I carried a pack of Dentyne Ice Intense gum with me all the time; I carried it in my front-left pocket, in front of my card [...]
