Alpencross

And I’m off: going to pay my taxes, then to Karlsruhe for a train to Oberstdorf. Tomorrow morning we leave for seven full days across the Alps though Austria and Switzerland to finish in Torbole at the North of Lago di Garda at the end of next Thursday (expected). In Italy until Saturday, [...]

A Short Cycling Trip

A couple of years ago I wrote a lot about milk. Now I feel like I am writing a lot about cycling. But never am i writing anything useful about cycling, just “I went cycling” or “I like cycling”.

I went cycling last night after work. We did a trip to Dobel, followed [...]

Calendar and To-Dos

There are still some things that I want to do before I leave Germany/Europe. These things include, but are not limited to:
– buying some Adidas trainers
– visiting the Canadian Vimy Memorial
– spend a weekend in Berlin
– visit Munich again, hopefully for work
– buying a [...]

Alpencross Readiness

I have a confession for the world: I am concerned about my Alpencross readiness. I knew that going on vacation would set me back some, and it has, but I’m not sure that is all that I can blame. We’re talking about six consecutive days of intense bicycling, and trekking, carrying everything I [...]

Eurotrip Photos

A couple of months ago I wrote to you about my reaching the mid-point of my year here in Germany; now, I have but four months left. Time is going by rather quickly.

Zürich Apple Store

MK, the Brownman, and I deked into the Zürich Apple Store opening on Friday, enjoying the high energy and the free t-shirt. There’s a bit about the store on ifoAppleStore and TUAW.

Prague

- Late night dining is virtually non-existent in Prague.
- You can defeat the annoying cabaret workers on Wenceslas Square by speaking French.
- According to The New York Times Bellevue is the best restaurant in Prague.
- One hour of paddle-boating on the Vltava river is approximately 200 Kč.
- Prague II has a ridiculous number of places [...]

Badische Meile

Today is the day of the Badische Meile in Karlsruhe. This is an 8.88889 km run throughout the city of Karlsruhe. The distance is quite manageable; I haven’t run in some time but I have been on the bicycle a few times lately so I hope that I will be fit enough to [...]

Frühlingsfest

On Saturday night Mr. Orovan, Mr. Scott, and myself visited Munich’s Frühlingsfest (spring festival). The festival is “family friendly” and had a large number of rides, skill games, food stands, and other ways to spend your money. It also had a couple of beer halls/tents.

I was actually quite surprised to see all of [...]
